About
Francisco Alberto García-Quezada, affectionately known as El Profe, is an educator with more than thirty years of experience in secondary and higher education. He holds dual degrees in Spanish Literature and Bilingual Education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, an M.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Fordham University, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy at Fordham University.
An accomplished curriculum developer, writer, and poet, El Profe recently retired from the North Rockland Central School District, where he served as Chair of the World Languages Department and taught AP and college-level Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at SUNY Rockland Community College and works as an educational consultant specializing in World Languages, English Language Learners, Social-Emotional Learning, and Youth Leadership.
A recipient of fellowships, Fulbright awards, and postgraduate study grants from Columbia University, Cornell University, New York University, Yale University, and the Universidad de Salamanca, he recently joined the administration and faculty of Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education, where he develops teacher and leadership programs through the NYS/NYC Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network.
El Profe is an active member of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of its New York Metropolitan Chapter.
