Professional Learning Series - Cervantes

The Instituto Cervantes offers a variety of Professional Learning Series and workshops designed for Spanish teachers and professionals looking to enhance their teaching skills, obtain certifications, or specialize in teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). These programs are available in both in-person and online formats. 

Key components of the Instituto Cervantes professional learning programs include:

1. Teacher Training and Development

  • Monographic Training Workshops: Short (3-hour) workshops focusing on specific, practical classroom strategies and tools.
  • Initial Training Courses: Aimed at individuals starting their career in teaching Spanish.
  • Annual Teacher Training Program (FAP): A series covering various topics of interest for teaching professionals throughout the academic year.
  • Specialized Training: Courses focusing on teaching Spanish to kids and teens, as well as developing, planning, and evaluating teaching processes. 

2. Accreditation and Certification

  • DELE Examiner Accreditation: Courses designed for experienced Spanish teachers to become accredited to conduct DELE examinations.
  • DADIC Exam: The Instituto Cervantes is developing a series of diplomas (Instituto Cervantes Teaching Accreditation Diplomas) at three levels to certify the professional training of ELE teachers.
  • AVE Global Tutor Training: Training for teachers who wish to become tutors for the online AVE platform. 

3. Professional Spanish Courses

  • Spanish for the Workplace: Courses designed for professionals or students looking to improve their language skills for specific business or professional environments
