Welcome to the online home of the AATSP — Metropolitan New York Chapter

More than a century ago, in 1916, teachers right here in the metro New York area organized el capítulo alfa — the very first chapter — and that effort grew into the national American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese the following year. We've been showing up for one another ever since, and this site is the newest place we gather.

Whether you teach Spanish or Portuguese, in an elementary classroom or a university seminar, you've found your people. We built this space to make your work a little lighter, your resources easier to find, and our community easier to reach.
